Open Letter About the Open Letters: Good News! Good News!

It’s officially available; the collection of my Open Letters, each one personally contextualized with my own introductions; and with new Letters added, written specifically for the book. I like the title: Open Letters: On Life, Loss, Faith, and the Human Condition. I think of it as inviting readers into a deeply personal dialogue on what it means to be human in our time, exploring how religion offers hope and insight at moments of crisis: when the world shuts down (as in COVID); when life shuts down (what I learned about mourning, when my wife died); and when living through difficult times (the world today, as we have known it).

It is my 50th book; in many ways, my best one.

It is designed for you, my regular readers whom I keep in mind whenever I write these Letters; and also for continuing education classes, where people can pick and choose the Letters and issues they want to think about, in any given meeting together.

If you pre-order before November 2,  the publisher, CCAR Press, is offering a special 20% discount.

To order, please visit the book page online at https://ccar.co/openletters. Add the book to your cart and use promo code 20LETTERS at checkout to receive your 20% discount. As I say, the promo code is valid through November 2, 2026.

Thank you; thank you; thank you.
